Terms & Conditions

For work completed from 1st January 2025

Please pay on time. Payments terms are 14 days and we now charge 10% GST.

  1. Late Payments
    Please note that priority is given to loyal clients who pay on time. Failure to pay within 14 days may result in:
    1. Cessation of service.
    2. More than one late payment means that you will be added to a "Delinquent Accounts Register" list.
    3. If you are on this register (and all outstanding fees have been paid in full) invoices will be sent in advance of work being done.
  2. Payments over $3,000
    Most website build payments are usually paid in 3 instalments (unless agreed otherwise)
    1. 40% up front
    2. 30% on draft completion
    3. 30% after 1st changes are made
  3. Payments over $8,000
    will incure a 25% deposit with the remainder broken into monthly instalments (unless agreed otherwise).
  4. Payments over $50,000
    paid in regular instalments or in the form of a salary (e.g as a "Casual" or "Part Time" employee).
  5. Final payment
    always falls due 14 days after 1st draft changes are uploaded and shown to client.
    1. Additional Revisions (beyond 1st draft plus changes) will be charged at a price agreed in advance.
    2. Revision notes must be in writing and sent via email (email/text/PDF/Word format is fine).
  6. Maintenance Fees.
    All maintenance fees are paid in advance and are non-refundable. Business website mainteance can be paid one year in advance (rather than monthly) for $650pa (incl. GST) or $65 monthly.
  7. Deadlines
    must be clearly stated in writing.
  8. Work Requests
    All work performed will be in response to a written email or job list.

    1. Email is our preferred method of communication (responses will be timely).
    2. All work requests must be in writing (attached PDF/Word docs are fine).
    3. Job lists can be shared or sent via Google Spreadsheets or even a text file.
    4. Bullet-point lists in Word are fine (we grey-out tasks completed and return the document with detailed notes).
    5. We require a paper trail for both trouble-shooting jobs and auditing work requests.
    6. We respond to all emails within 3 days (except on weekends or public holidays).
    7. Emails marked URGENT will be dealt with immediately if we are in error or there is a server issue. Otherwise all emails will be dealt with in the usual way.

Conditions

  1. General Website Maintenance Does Not Cover;
    1. Installation and support for third-party software (i.e. not supplied by us) is not covered by website maintenance.
    2. 3rd Party Theme support (e.g. if you are building your own site) is not covered by website maintenance.
    3. HTML/CSS/Programming is not not covered by website maintenance.
    4. Email Support (e.g. Cloud or Self-hosted) is not covered by website maintenance. We use a receipt system to check if an email has left the server. 99% of issues have to do with security/spam settings being too high. You can train your system to recognise website email by adding the sending address to your whitelist.
    5. I.T. support is not not covered by website maintenance.
  2. FTP Access. To Manage your site we need FTP & Admin-level access to your website’s back-end.
  3. Google Access. To Manage your site please share your data with objectman[at]gmail.com.
  4. We are not responsible for issues arising from (or as an indirect result of);
    1. Client misdaventure (e.g. connectivity issues)
    2. 3rd party misadventure (e.g. SEO, DNS, SSL, Email issues).
  5. We are not qualified to help you with; PC, Antivirus or general computer issues.
  6. Zero Tolerance Policy.
    Threats, disrespect, physical violence and verbal abuse will result in all your files being zipped up and forwarded to you. We run a peaceful operation and aim to exceed your expectations and generally like to keep relations professional.

Additional Costs

  1. Stock images (beyond what is used for draft and 1st revision work) must be royalty-cleared and sent as an attachment (usually via email).
  2. We do not pay for, or offer support for;
    1. 3rd party or premium (paid-for) software.

    3. Premium WordPress Plug-ins

We do not support ...

  1. Email delivery issues
    We can’t offer help with third party email or email client (e.g. Outlook etc.) issues. If you are not using cloud-based email, we can provide you with server (POP mail) settings. How you set up, send and receive emails is up to you. We use an email receipt system to check to see if mail is leaving the server. What happens after it leaves your website is outside of our purview. Please check your SPAM box and settings if you are not getting website mail (99% of the time this will be the problem).
  2. SSL Certificates
    If you are not hosted with us using our free (A2hosting.com) SSL certificate, your SSL Certificate provider can help help you set up SSL (https://) on your website.
  3. Premium Plugins
    3rd party WP plug-in / WooCommerce / Joomla / Wix / Shopify extension developers can help you trouble-shoot 3rd Party software if it is connected to your website.
  4. IT Issues
    We do not help with computer issues. We use DV Computers Myaree for PC upgrades, tweaks, device, hardware and firmware updates.

File Transfers

  1. We are happy to share folders and files via cloud-based services such as;
    • Google Drive
    • Dropbox
    • Onedrive

While we can’t help with your PC issues, we can recommend or refer you to I.T. & Computer Support people we work with. We recommend DV Computers Myaree for all PC upgrades, device and tricky firmware updates.

Who We Are

Geoffrey is a business owned and run by Edwin James Lynch, who holds a degree in Communication and a diploma in Multimedia. In the past, Edwin taught web design, development, and online marketing at various universities in Western Australia. He collaborates with copywriters, programmers, and other specialists, but likes to work independently.
