Ray's site benchmarked against the three closest tilt-up commercial builders in Perth.
Snapshot taken 27 July 2026 · sources are the live public sites, listed at the foot of this page
All three sell the same thing Emerge sells: on-site tilt-up panel construction plus the slabs and footings underneath it, delivered as a full commercial build. Buildcom is the sharpest threat — they are in Bibra Lake, roughly four kilometres from Ray in Beeliar, chasing the same south-corridor industrial work.
Ray's capability is not the problem. His evidence is. Every competitor answers "why should I trust you with a $2m warehouse" with named clients, dated projects, warranties and memberships. Emerge answers it with adjectives.
Rated on what a commercial client actually checks before requesting a quote.

Two things are real advantages and neither is currently on the site in a form a buyer would notice.
I ran the four terms a Perth buyer would realistically type and recorded who surfaced. Emerge appears only on the narrowest, lowest-volume phrasing.
Emerge only ranks when the query already contains its exact page title wording. It is invisible on the head term — "commercial builder Perth" — which is where the warehouse and factory budgets are. Nine competitors occupy that result page and Ray is not one of them.
The competitors buying that visibility are doing it with volume claims ("300+ projects", "350+ projects", "25 years") and with sector-specific landing pages. Alita ranks for church, aged care and education work because it built a page for each. Emerge has one undifferentiated commercial page.
No Google Business Profile surfaced for Emerge in any search, and no reviews anywhere. For a trade business chasing local commercial work this is the cheapest high-return gap on the list — Rapid Tilt's own Facebook shows zero reviews, so the review field in this niche is wide open.
Three of these are live credibility leaks a prospect can see today. I could not obtain Lighthouse lab scores through the available fetch path, so the speed findings below are causes observed in the page source rather than measured scores — worth confirming with a manual PageSpeed Insights run before quoting numbers to Ray.
"We offer the most complete house renovating services in the country" — sitting directly under the Picture Gallery heading on a commercial tilt-up builder's site.
Unreplaced theme demo copy. A commercial client landing here sees a domestic renovator. It also feeds Google the wrong topic signal on the one page meant to prove commercial capability.
Theme defaults, never replaced, in both header and footer sitewide. Clicking any of them dumps the prospect on a login page. Also insecure http:// links.
Colour scheme swatches, background pattern picker, background image thumbnails and a "PURCHASE NOW" link to themeforest.net render on every page. It looks like an unfinished template — and it loads a dozen unused demo images plus their CSS and JS on every single page view, which is the most likely single cause of slow mobile loads.
Emerge runs WPBakery with no caching plugin detectable in the output. Alita runs WP Rocket 3.21.3 and serves properly sized images. Buildcom serves responsive image sets. Emerge's gallery links full-resolution originals rather than sized derivatives.
Emerge's pages carry no meta description, no Open Graph and no Twitter card data. Both Buildcom and Alita have complete sets, so their links preview properly when shared and their search snippets read as intended rather than being auto-scraped.
Footer reads ©2024. The footer "Planning" link points to /service/planning-construction-management/ while the nav points to /building-construction-services/planning-project-management/ — two different URLs for the same page.
Ordered by damage-per-hour. The first three are cheap, take under a day between them, and stop the site actively undermining Ray.
Kill the colour/pattern/background switcher and the ThemeForest purchase link. Replace the three placeholder social URLs with real profiles or remove the icons entirely. Rewrite the gallery page headline.
Nothing else on this list matters while the site tells commercial prospects that Ray renovates houses and runs an unfinished template.
Ray pays on time and clients like him — three or four quotes with company names attached. Rapid Tilt names Challenge Batteries, CBH Kwinana, MMP Wangara and Arcla Bassendean. That is the standard being set.
Emerge is the only one of the four with zero social proof. This is the single widest gap in the comparison and it costs almost nothing but Ray's phone time.
Each needs client or sector, suburb, floor area, build duration, and what made it awkward. "Warehouse" and "Night work" as titles waste the imagery Ray already owns.
This is also where the "too-hard basket" claim gets proven. One documented difficult job beats every adjective on the homepage.
Add a landline and a street address. Surface the BC103397 registration number prominently rather than mid-paragraph. Add Master Builders or equivalent membership if Ray holds one.
Buildcom and Alita both publish landline plus street address. A mobile-only contact reads as a sole trader to a client comparing tenders — fair or not.
Photos, services, service area, then ask past clients for reviews as each job closes.
No Emerge profile surfaced in any search. Rapid Tilt's Facebook shows zero reviews — the whole niche is under-reviewed, so a handful of genuine ones would stand out immediately.
Warehouse, factory, showroom, office — one page each, following how Rapid Tilt and Alita structure theirs.
This is the mechanism competitors use to own the head term. Alita ranks for church and aged care work purely because it built a page for each sector.
Write descriptions for every page, install caching, generate sized image derivatives, fix the duplicate planning URL, update the copyright year.
Housekeeping — but it compounds, and it is the difference between Alita's clean search snippets and Emerge's scraped ones.
Emerge cannot beat Mapel or Built Ink on volume claims and should not try. Its defensible position is the opposite: a registered builder who caps concurrent projects so the director is actually on site, and who takes the jobs others decline. That is a real, sellable difference against nine competitors all shouting about project counts — and right now it is one sentence in a footer.
